Google Me! the movie.

Here Comes a movie named “Google Me”.The official website says:

April 25th – Simultaneous World Premiere – It start with when I googled my name.

I have googled my name for several times, to find something interesting.Maybe most people had do this, isn’t it?

I think the movie will be very good.

本来我一直是用的Blogline,Google Reader出来以后,因为一直觉得显示页面不够大所以没用,只是导了Feed. 直到地震…Blogline访问不了,转到Google Reader,发现还蛮好用的,特别就是这个快捷键.用的比较多的就是Shift+A,N(J),P(K),V和U. (依次是:标记全部为已读,下一个,上一个,打开其页面以及全屏显示).不过发现如果是中文输入法的状态下,快捷键失效,不过这也是没办法的事.

如果Google改成黑色背景,那么一年将节省3000兆网特电力?不只吧.

昨天考试回来,打开Google Reader.一般Digg的RRS我都只略微浏览一下,不过今天Digg technology蹦出一条:Black Google Would Save 3,000 Megawatts a Year.

另外一个页面告诉我们,全屏显示每种颜色的耗电量.(为CRT显示器的耗电量)
一个全白色的页面需要大约74瓦特.一个全黑色页面只需要59瓦特.

Mark Ontkush计算了一下:按照撞墙百科上所说,Google搜索量为200,000,000一天.假设每个搜索10秒钟,那么倘若Google是黑色背景,一年就能节省大约3000兆瓦特的电力.

不过,似乎这个计算似乎偏高了一点.因为对于LCD显示器来说,显示黑色和显示白色是没有区别的.(可参见LCD显示器的原理).假设去Google搜索的用户中目前是有50%使用LCD显示器,那么上面的数值就该减半了.

可是,要注意的另一个问题是Google产品的用户,因为Google自己的产品,都统一了色调(不包括Blogger等收购的产品).而Google若是要改首页背景颜色,必定会将其产品一同改变(衣服和裤子总要搭调嘛).一个Google用户只会花10秒在这些页面上.?至少Google Reader和Gmail是远远不止.当然,这两个页面也不全是白色的,只有大约50%左右为白色,而你每天花在上面的时间是多少.?10分钟?还是1小时?
这样看起来,3000兆瓦特电力.6000兆瓦特怕都不只了吧.
