Did you ever wanna the icon of some folder is your photo?(I think you already know how to change a folder’s icon , If you don’t, Click here). It seems the problem is how to change the photos to icons.

Today’s application is also very simple and it’s open source.

It’s name is “Img2icns”. It’s a small but powerful tool to change your pictures to icon files.

Look at the picture, you can choice which type you want the icons be.

You can choice Icns file or folder icon.

Icns file format will give you the icon.

Folder icon format is build a folder and it’s icon is the picture of you just dragged in. 

And the last one named ‘Droplet’, I don’t know what is it.It seems it’s just a way to view the picture.

Everyday, we need to adjust the sound volume of our Mac…

Here’s some tips around it.

When we adjust the sound volume by the shortcut key in keyboard, it will play a sound, do you hate it?

If you hold “Shift” key and then press “sound-up” or “sound-down” key, it will turn your volume without that sound “di”.

and, If you hold “Option” key,  it will open your sound-preferences window.

Of cause you know there are only 16 cases we can adjust…

If you hold both “Shift” and “Option”,then press the “sound-up(or down)” key, it will give you a fine-turning, one case change to 4, so that you now have in total 64 cases to adjust the volume.

By the way, are you using that widget which named “weather”? yes, the one installed with MacOS system. the way it shows how is the weather is really cool. If you hold “option”+”(cmd)” key and click on it, it will show those weather-effects one by one.But you will find that the location change to “nowhere”, to back it to the city which you setup, press (cmd)+R.

Application of today named “Easy DMG”. 

Yes, like it’s name, it’s a small application which could build a DMG file very easy.If you are finding some app to build a DMG, you just found it.

This is it’s main window, just a drag area, no more.

You just need drag the files into it. Then wait for few minute. Done. The DMG file will be built in the same folder of the files which you just dragged into it.

The preferences is also very simple.

The newest version could notify finish by audio, Growl and auto-reveal in finder.

What’s more, it’s an open-source one. Download via follow link, include the application and it’s code files.

If you are using a Mac, you must know how powerful the widgets is.

Do you want to put your widgets on your website? 

If your answer is “Yes”, and you want to have and you have a keep reading.

It’s very easy. Before do this, you need professional web hosting(Bluehost is a good one) , any FTP tools and Dashcode. of cause need a Mac~

Okay, let’s start.

First, download Widgets which you want to put on your website.

Second(if you write the widget by yourself via dashcode, jump to next step), open your Dashcode, import the file you just download.

Third, choice every files except the first one(look the follow picture),press “(cmd)+ C” or any other way to copy them. Then paste them to any folder you like.

Fourth(important),use some tool to edit the “.html” file. Press “(cmd)+F” to open “find”. input “file://”. check everyplace you found(it seems like “file://system/……”). open your finder and goto that the path you find. upload those files to your FTP, remember the where you upload to. Then replace everywhere you find in the “.html” file to the path which you upload to.

Change what we just found to the path on FTP

Fifth, upload the folder which you save the files we just copied from DashCode.

Now, you have done.

It will appear some problem but the widget on your site can use. I’m finding the way to work out them.

I was looking for a good RSS reader for a long time. googlereader is good but i want one which could be offline read.

Yesterday i found this one. A very beautiful RSS reader, of cause it’s powerful.

Here are some pictures.

Yes, it looks really like a newspaper~ at the top of the main flame is pages, click on each page to change categories. and what’s the 2 button at the top-right corner? the left one is “toggle shelf”, other one is “toggle feed”.

What’s “shefl”? the one in the 4th picture above is. you can drop what you like on it, like a board which use to collect books. though it just have 4 blank, each one could put on several articles, it will be shown as Stack in the Dock. and you can set how much time to auto-clean it.

And, you can put 3 feeds which you favorite on the main area of each page via “toggle feed” button.

You can choice read whole article in Safari, and the new articles is signed by a blue point just like new emails in Mail.

If you used to use googlereader just like me. i’m sure that you must love this one. What i love most is “share”. It add a button in the end of each article.

But, I really want it has some shortcut during reading, just like GoogleReader shortcut, that will be really, really good.
